Mr. Maionchi (My-own- key)

Their is this substitute teacher that my 5th period class had on may 21, 2007. He was a very different kind of man he was old but he was very alive. He had his own way of doing things an since this is a computer he had his things to say about looking at the wrong things and also when he wanted us to work he had his own little funny phrases . He also had his Irish accent and a very cool hat and here is some of the funny phrases he said here is some of them.

Class Mates Blog

When I comment on my class mates blogs I try to look for an article that I can relate to. This way i can talk or try to relate to what their talking about. Or if I new what the topic was about i could probably have a conversation about the event and maybe their could be some controversy.

I really do like podcast because I use it for my iPod because I can get radio clips. I can also get it for free and its great. I could find clips of all types but I prefer the comedy section and the sorts like espn and things like that. i have found out that it is easy to find all kinds of podcast that is for free that you are able to download. It i easier to use iTunes for podcast because they have a wide variety of choices. I feel that we should all use a podcast to find radio or small clips.

Earth Day

Earth day is celebrated on April 22 every year. This day was started by a US senator named Gaylord Nelson, this man felt that at the meeting who would speak for the environment and stand up for it. So Gaylord Nelson had decide to teach others all about the environment on one certain day April 22 over 2million people had participated that year. Now a days countries all over the world celebrate this day. Gaylord nelson and his followers lead this day. These people where the craters of earth day. This day was shown to be very popular in the US. Well exactly 175 countries celebrate this day. This day was so everyone would think about our environment and try to make it as better place to live. That is why Earth Day is a day when we should change and realize how we could.

Fuzzy logic

This is a new revolutionary way so that the computer is able to think like a human so it basically mimics the way a human would think or solve a problem. But usually computers or electronics use the method of binary logic which is based on 1 and 0 being in a certain combo or pattern. A microprocessor switch must be in either the on or off position. Binary system processes data in black and white. but with fuzzy logic it deals with "grey". Fuzzy logic has to deal with adjustments to a continuum of choices, for example the coffee would be warm/hot, or maybe something like ice cream is sweet. Also fuzzy logic is cheaper to make. Lotfi Zadeh first labeled the concept in the 1960s, when he worked with fuzzy logic sets at the University of California at Berkeley. Japan has the concept of fuzzy logic and used the system to invent a myriad of smart machines. China soon will follow and they also have the most fuzzy logic specialists than any other nation. A washing machine that uses a fuzzy logic can change its speed and water levels, depending on the size of the load, also how dirty the clothes are; put food in a fuzzy microwave and it senses how long and how hot to cook it; a fuzzy camcorder adjusts for shakiness. I know that my mom would love that feature. Fuzzy logic is the best for the future and better.

What do people these days use their Internet for? Studies show that 90% use for email, 77% general information, 69% surfing, 67% reading, 63% hobbies, 62% Product information, 54% travel and information, 46% work and business, 36% Games and entertainment, 36% buying, 27% stock quotes, 26% job searching, 24% chat rooms, 21% homework, 13% auctions, 12% banking, and 7% trading stocks. Personally I use the Internet mostly for email, general information, homework, surfing, buying, and games. The Internet is mostly helpful for me for home work because like right know I have to host a blog on the Internet and therefore I will be able to finish my blogs at home. Throwout the years the process of using the Internet more has progressed because as we are all coming into the new years their is a lot of new technology and we are having to learn how to use search and discover on the Internet. I have also realized that as i have been growing up that the Internet has been more of a daily thing where ever I go. It is also shown that high school and through college students have developed a habit of using the Internet more because for homework emailing their friends research, or just to play games. I personally do notice that i do use the Internet more tan my cousins in the younger grades and my elders that are around the age of 30 and up. This is probably because the Internet is required so we are able to research and find the information that we need. I personally people might use the Internet a little to much this is because they are not going out to exercise or interact more with the out side world. Statistics show that people spend way too much time on the Internet and not enough going outside to play or have outside interaction. also it has been shown that the Internet has somehow stopped us form leaving their home such as playing games on the Internet or downloading music, or being able to work at home from your house computer and not leaving the house s o you can pay the bills or do your taxes on the computer. From my prospective i feel that this revolution ha maybe put a huge affect on us that would start a whole new trend of life for those who may use the computer a little too much.

Family

I believe that family can be anyone who loves you would stick up for you, cares for you, believes in you and basically anyone very close to you. For example i have a best friends who is named Jose who i consider like very close family and my cousin consider him as family too. I meet him when i was 6 he was my neighbor and we have been friends ever sense. Also family is your same DNA or a blood relative. I have many people in my family circle. In my family circle have my nuclear family which consist of my dad mom and my younger sister, but also my extended family which is my cousins, uncles, aunts, and grandparents. But also in my inner circle are my very good friends. The friends that stay true but never change and the people that i hang out with and the people that can trust. My family is non like no other. They are happy, exciting, crazy but in a good way, caring, trusting, help full, they persevere me, and expect the best of me and know that I can do whatever I try. My family circle has a grand variety of people. I has business owners, construction workers, sectaries, hair stylist, teachers, mechanics, police men, garbage men, in a paper assembly line, truck drivers. deli workers, recycling company owners. We also have soccer players, baseball players, volleyball players, basketball players football players, badminton players, and hula dancers. We also have people with different religions also with different nationalities of all types. Their are also people into rock, hip hop rap, rmb, blues, reggeton, mariachi, and jazz opera. the rare all different types you can think of. Their are many different generations i have aunts Grandparents cousins with great great grandparents cousins kids the age group vary from new born to 93 years old. "Families evolve from a patchwork of possibilities" I believe that this quote means that a family could have problems issues but they come back to fix it up with love, compassion, hard work, trust, hugs, perseverance, and i believe that all those things are some of the patches of life that can fix up any problem you might come by.

Soccer History 101 summary

This project was one of the funnest projects that I have done yet. During the process I have found a lot of information that i never knew about soccer. But at the beginning I pretty much had an idea on what I wanted to do and teach for our project. The survey was easy to create Alonzo and I had put pretty easy question to answer so the people could give us one answer question so it could be easier to calculate and find out what they chose. After the surveys where done we started one getting the information and the main points that we needed to talk about. After that I all my information home and made a script so we would be able to use it when we would record it would be easier. After done recording we took the video camera and edited it at Alonzo's cousins house. We had a lot of trial and error because we would think we put the right effects or the right sound but we would change it. Then we put are final on a DVD and took it to school. At school we watched it as a class. After we had turned it in and watched it we felt great about our project. The experience was great we had learned a lot about editing and using I move on a Mac. I couldn't have chose a better partner for this project.

Editing and Making Into DVD

After we done recording we tried to find out where we could go to get the editing done. Then Alonzo realized that his cousin Ricardo, had an apple computer and that we could edit and put it on a DVD their. Last Saturday we went to his cousins house around 2:00 in the after noon. When we got their Alonzo's cousin hooked up the video camera and connected it to Imovie. While where looking for spots that might need editing we had gotten stuck a few times because we where not that great on an Apple computer. So Alonzo's cousin showed us a few tricks on how to use Imovie. We had added some text overlays and also some visual effects to create a better scene. We had also put in a soccer clip and music along with other sound such as the sound of people clapping. After we where done with that we watched the movie on the computer to try and figure out if we needed any more editing done. We had to wait till the next day because we had to go home and it was getting to late. So the next day Alonzo had to go somewhere but he came back at night i called him and he told me that he would get it on a DVD and bring it to school one Monday. but he also said he might do a little editing so I said ok. Now the DVD is turned in and waiting for grading.

When Alonzo came to my house me and my dad where all set so when Alonzo came over that we would just be ready to go. When he was their we took some practice takes first so we would be able to get used to the script. Then we started recording their where some parts when we had messed up or accidentally read over a sentence twice but we made sure that we re winded and did that part all over again. While recording was going on my dad would try to get our attention if he felt that we where doing something wrong like if the paper we where holding was to high or if we didn't look at the camera enough. While we where readidng we tried to have a constant pace so it would flow along. After the recording was done we watched it on the tv to see which how it went and how it turned out.

Script

At my house while I was waiting for Alonzo to start recording, I had decided to gather all the information that me and Alonzo gathered and make it into a script. Parts of the information I put under Alonzo and other parts I would put under what I would say. I made sure that we alternated paragraphs so we could have about the same information to say. While I was writing the script I made sure that the alternation follow in pattern so that the information would flow and make sense. I had to print out three scripts and color code the names of what paragraph belonged to. The reason I had made three because one for me and Alonzo and one for the camera man which was my dad. The reson for the script is because when we start recording it wil make everything go faster and it did after we used it.

On the past weekend I had taken home the surveys that we made for our video project about the history of soccer. These surveys where meant for people who know the sport but we had also passed out the surveys to people who did not know the sport that well. I had passed the surveys out to most of my family members. then i took them home and reviewed them on Saturday. Then I had also passed them out at school during lunch then had collected them. After I had taken the surveys back I had shown them to my partner Alonzo. Then I would decide to go take the surveys to my other friends. Then I will put all of my answers together and put them in groups categorized.

1st Project Blog

Alonzo my partner and I will talk about how soccer was started and where was started. We will also speak about the My partner Alonzo and I are going to explain the basic history of soccer. Alonzo and I will talk important people who had influenced soccer for the better. We will make comparison between soccer now and then when soccer started. i will also go around the school and ask them a couple so questions for our interviews and to see what knowledge that they contain. Then we have decided to gather all the information and present it in a movie segment. After that is done we will do editing on the computer.
